THE LAST WALK:
GENRE TENTING
The majority of personal site will be tenting, with participants either organizing themselves as small groups or putting together individual tent spaces. This event has a high standard that all sites, props, and materials must be in-character and genre appropriate during the duration of the event.
No modern food labels, no mass produced folding chairs that aren’t disguised with fabrics, and players must make every effort to create true post apocalyptic genre and remain in character.
If players would like to, or need to, drop character there is a hall that has been set up for the sale of food that is out of character. Players may leave the play space and go there if they want to purchase food, decompress out of character, or otherwise take time for themselves where they are not in the world.
Since the game is roughly two days of engagement, we aim for those two days to be as immersive as possible.
Below are links and examples of genre tenting, food service, and camping related items to help you find genre resources. While these are not the only items, as players are planning their space they should keep in mind that modern neon tents (even with spray paint on them) are not really genre. If a player wants an out of character tenting area that is not genre, there is a designated space farther away from the play space for these tents.
Most prop suggestions are listed on Amazon for ease of internet access. If you have a local business or artisan that you can buy similar products for, we encourage that.
